GiftLinke is a mobile-first gifting platform that helps people send thoughtful presents from small businesses. The client wanted journal-inspired, handcrafted visuals for their onboarding experience.

For this project, we created a set of digital “stickers” for the app interface and website, providing a consistent, handcrafted feel. These can also be printed as physical stickers, both as gifts for clients and as marketing materials.

The onboarding design concept mimics the experience of turning pages in a personal journal, echoing the brand’s handcrafted aesthetic. Certain details flow across two screens, creating a sense of continuity and making the user journey more intuitive and emotionally engaging.

Start Codon is an Australian consultancy that supports scientific researchers by providing expert advice, helping to commercialise their studies, and translating their work into accessible formats. Their services focus on three key areas: consulting, commercialisation, and communication. The client approached for a full rebrand to better reflect their role as a bridge between the scientific community and the wider public.

The main challenge was to balance the professional tone required in the scientific and business worlds with a friendly, approachable character that would appeal to wider audiences. The brand needed to convey “clean, modern, informal expertise” while maintaining authority and trustworthiness.

Our design process began with clarifying the brand’s core values and audience touchpoints. From there, we explored directions that combined scientific precision with a human, accessible voice. The final identity system included a redesigned logo, typography system, a versatile colour palette, and custom illustration assets.

This illustration style explores a dark aesthetic across a range of applications, from book covers and packaging to editorial design. The works highlight how illustration can bring atmosphere, mood, and narrative depth to both personal projects and commissioned design.
